Vendor FAQ

JOINING

How do I get a membership started with MWC? http://www.maineweddingguide.com/vendors

Can I list in more than one vendor category? Yes. Example: Maine wedding venues may currently list in the ceremony venue, reception venue and/or waterfront venue categories-- if it is accurate to their property. Otherwise, a vendor should list in their dominant service category. To add a service to your profile, you must sell that service independently from your main service. We monitor vendor listings carefully for any abuse of this rule. If you are unsure, contact us for help.

How do my MWC leads work?
There are two types of bridal leads at the MWC:

1. Profile lead:

A lead sent to just you via your MWC profile listing which means a bride or groom has hit "contact this vendor" on your MWC vendor profile. They want to talk to you. The lead is sent only to you via your email with the lead info and any message.

2. General lead:

The bride has submitted a general inquiry at http://www.maineweddingguide.com/getstarted about needing info about a certain category like photography, cakes, venues, etc.  If you are listed in that category then you are notified via email and must login to MWC to check your "View New Leads" located in your green vendor tool box. The email notification that looks like this text:

You have a new lead at The Maine Wedding Company. Click here to login: http://www.maineweddingguide.com/login and then click View New Leads in your Vendor Tools. Happy Weddings!

How do I find my bride leads? Once logged in from http://www.maineweddingguide.com/login with your vendor user name and password, your tools appear in a green box on the left side of the screen. The first thing on top says 'view leads." You may mark leads 'viewed' to manage the leads. Leads will expire within two weeks of posting. Please respond to a bride within 48 hours.

BLOGS

Why is my blog photo not showing? Blog photos on your blog must also contain a full web link to show in the MWC system. So when you upload your blog photos simply make sure your blog creates a URL name for each photo. If not, add it manually and you will then see the blog image through our site.

One of my blog entries is not showing? If your blog post is not related to Maine weddings, weddings in general or fun things happening in your Maine business chances are that the MWC editors have unpublished it from the site. Contact us, if you feel this is an error.

What if I wrote a fun personal blog that has nothing to do about Maine or Maine weddings? Most likely, editors will remove it from the site. We try to be as lenient as possible.

** ProPhotoBlog users and Feedburner known issue:
You must set your Appearance, P3 customize, Content, RSS feed to "leave images untouched" for your blog posts so they syndicate through the MWC system.

IMAGES

One of my profile pictures is not showing. Be sure you have not used any spaces in your image title. Note: Dashes (-) are considered spaces in computer speak.

To submit a galley image, where do I put my caption?
Upload the image and a caption box will then appear for you to fill in.

Can I put my watermark on my 'Portfolio Images' in my personal vendor profile.
Yes, though it's not very pretty. That is your paid space so you may do what you wish.

Can I put my watermark on 'Gallery Images' that I submit? Watermarks may be used on gallery images.
